Cheerleaders 2003-04 Crespi Carmelite Cheerleaders By Liz Thorner Aug 31, 2003, 5:54pm Email this article  Printer friendly page Varsity Once again this year the Crespi Cheerleaders attended a 4 day camp at UC Santa Barbara, under the direction of United Spririt Association. From sun up to well past sundown the girls competed and learned routines that they will perform throughout the coming year. The Varsity and Freshman teams received a "Superior" placement, the highest award, for their four days. They were invited to cheer at the Pro-Bowl again this year, in Honolulu, Hawaii. The JV team received an "Outstanding" award for their efforts. Four girls tried out for the USA All-Star team and were invited to perform in London, England right after Christmas. They were; Freshman girls - Caitlin Carmody and Sarah McLaury, and Varsity girls - Hannah Smith and Gia McKinzie. All three teams received the USA Spirit Award for their outstanding behavior, attitude and wonderful spirit throughout the 4 day camp.
