Shaun Williams Kicks-off United Way Campaign

The relationship between the United Way and the NFL is well-chronicled. The two organizations have been working together to achieve dramatic results in our communities for nearly three decades. Shaun Williams continued the tradition on Tuesday when he spoke at the United Way of Central Jersey's campaign kickoff breakfast.

Williams spoke about his childhood, and the tough decisions that his parent made to enable him to receive the best education possible. He also discussed how difficult it was to ride for an hour and a half on a bus one-way just to get to school everyday. Turning to several young boys in the audience who are involved in United Way programs, he said, "It is the tough decisions and work ethic that will make you successful in life. The only way to not succeed is to give up on your dreams and stop trying to achieve them."

The breakfast was a great way for United Way supporters to renew their commitment to making a difference in their local community while talking a little time out of their morning to talk football and get some autographs for their kids, and themselves.
