Crespi OL Yusef Rodgers commits
UNLV added a very important commitment this week with the addition of one of the first lineman the Rebels offered for this years recruiting class. The Rebels received a verbal commitment from 6-3 280 pound offensive lineman Yusef Rodgers from Crespi High School in Encino, Calif.

Shanks, Woods do heavy work
All Crespi needed to dismantle Loyola of Los Angeles on Friday night was the powerful 1-2 punch of Austin Shanks and E.J. Woods.
Shanks ran for 179 yards on 20 carries and scored once, and Woods ran for 145 yards on eight carries and scored threetouchdowns in a 41-7 rout over visiting Loyola.
The Celts had 377 rushing yards.

Crespi routs Amat
LA PUENTE - The Bishop Amat High School football team has tried to set aside injuries and youth over the past weeks, but couldn't do it on Friday in a 35-14 loss to Crespi in a Serra League game.
Bishop Amat (4-4, 0-1) found no answers in stopping the Celts (5-3, 1-0) in a second half that featured three touchdowns on Crespi's first three possessions to put the game out of reach.

After two months of grueling nonleague competition, the Mission and Serra leagues finally begin their three-game schedules Friday.
The coaches of the six area teams that compete in the leagues expect the next threeweeks to be the most unforgiving of the season.

More than a year ago, tempers flared and arguments ensued as to whether Encino Crespi could be competitive if elevated to the highest level of Southern Section football. Now that the Celts are about to make their debut in the Pac 5 Conference, they can't wait to let others know just how good they really are.
