When one thinks of Crespi of Encino running backs, the first name is Russell White. The former Celts great owns four of the school's top rushing totals, including the only 300-yard game - until Friday in the Southern Section Div. X semifinal at Pierce College.
Now, White has been joined by Josh Morgan. The senior rushed 26 times for 347 yards - one yard off the school record - and scored four touchdowns in the Celts' 54-39 victory over Cabrillo of Lompoc.

Morgan scored on runs of 43, 36, 59 and 24 yards and also had nonscoring runs of 51 and 67 yards.

But Morgan wasn't the only offensive standout for Crespi (10-3), which advanced to next week's championship game against the winner of tonight's matchup between Lompoc and St. Joseph of Santa Maria. Quarterback Matt Wabby completed 13 of 20 passes for 310 yards - fourth all-time - and two touchdowns to DJ Holt, of 13 and 41 yards. Wabby also ran in one score.

Holt caught six passes for 126 yards, but Cary Jensen-Madison outdid him by catching five balls for 147 yards as the Celts outgained the Los Padres League champion Conquistadores (10-3) 679-389.

So with all that offense, how did Crespi trail 39-33 after three quarters? Cabrillo has a two-pronged running attack, with senior Vai Taua at running back and junior C.J. Simmons at quarterback. The two combined for 154 yards of rushing and four scores, but Taua also returned a kickoff 96 yards for a score.

The Conquistadores also took advantage of two Crespi fumbles and other Taua returns to play on a short field.
